Sun had readied himself. He had just completed his final trial, and with it, the grand trial on Poni. But now... Now was not the time for celebration, no. He and Lillie were after Lusamine. After confronting her at the Aether Paradise about the capture of Nebby, she had retreated, along with Guzma, into an Ultra Wormhole to worlds unknown. Nebby was left in a bizarre state and no longer moved. It was concerning, and the two of them couldn't just leave her to her own devices up there. Who knows what would come of that...

The night was almost peaceful, given their current mission. The night was beautiful, crisp, and a full moon hung ever present in the night sky. Sun looked up the decrepit stone staircase leading to the Altar, and began his climb, clutching the Moon Flute tight with his team snugly around his belt.

He met Lillie, with Nebby in her bag, ready and waiting to play the Sun Flute to call upon Alola's legendary Pokémon. All he had to do, was join her with the Moon Flute to complete the melody. After they had both gotten themselves ready and resolved, he went over to his pillar in the water to play it.

The song went smoothly, and once it was over, the ground began to shake. The water pools around him began to glow a vibrant array of color. A quick glance to the other side of the Altar revealed Lillie's doing the same.

The light filtered up to the grand marking on the wall, forming a full ring around it, the center opening to reveal a small, orange, entrance filled with a ball of light similar to the ones surrounding the two of them.

It shot out a blast of energy into the center of the Altar, which quickly expanded itself into a similar multicolored sphere. Sun looked on in awe as, all of a sudden, Lillie's bag flew away and seemed to get pulled directly into the sphere. Lillie had futilely reached after it, but it was too late.

Once it was in front of the light sphere, Nebby- now Cosmoem, floated out of the bag and gently in front of it. The bag fell haphazardly to the ground as Cosmoem had become entirely enveloped by the light. It slowly rose as it began to glow brighter, almost resembling a mix of the sphere's light, the pale moonlight, and a Pokémon's evolution light.

Once it had all dissipated, in Nebby's place was... Nebby. Lunala, to be specific. It let out a mighty cry as Lillie looked on and smiled. After quickly and quietly explaining their purpose to it, she pleaded that Nebby would open an Ultra Wormhole and allow them to go after Lusamine. Nebby couldn't help but agree, swooping up, and grabbing the two of them on its way down, before swiftly entering a wormhole it had torn open moments before.

...Soon, it had reached the other side. The Ultra Beasts' world. The whole place was a strange greyish blue, and the air was thick and hard to breathe in. Guzma had been sitting up ahead and had some things to say about how "y'all were stupid" and that Lusamine could no longer be reasoned with, but now was not the time to turn back. Now was the time for action. As he had walked off towards the entrance, Sun and Lillie couldn't help but spot all the various Beasts floating around- mostly a lot of Nihilego, the one form the paradise, but still.

As they approached the far end of the room, there they found Lusamine waiting for them, sitting on a seat with Nihilego at her side.

"Look at it... The world of my Ultra Beasts... A world where the only thing that exists is the love between Nihilego and myself." She said. After Lillie and Lusamine both went at it, with Lillie explaining that her children were not things to be discarded, and Lusamine claiming she no longer needed her now that she had a world full of Nihilego.

"...And with Nihilego's power, I will show you just how wrong you were to come here!" She eventually called out, snapping Sun to attention. She had thrown a beast ball into the air, releasing a Nihilego of course from it.

However, instead of battling you like a normal Pokémon...

It fused with her.

All of a sudden, aside from now appearing to be inside of one, Lusamine's hair had turned pitch black, gaining golden yellow highlights. Her arms had turned into strange alien tentacles with eyes on them. Her eyes were now pure yellow and the lower half of her body was a strange shade of purple. The two of them wanted to back off then and there.

But... Before either of them could react, Sun had been thrown into a battle with her! And he knew, that if he couldn't win this... Well, actually he didn't know. He didn't want to find out what would happen, either.

But he would. Against all the odds, Sun had lost the fight rather promptly. He stared on in shock, hastily recalling his final, fainted Pokémon. Primarina. His starter, the one Pokémon he counted on the most. Looking over to Lillie, they both soon realized he was unable to fight, she was unable to fight, and this meant they would be at the mercy of whatever this... beast wanted with them. They tried to hurry, tried to flee back to Nebby to get them out of there, but it was no use. They both felt something odd and stretchy around them, and a quick look down revealed the Motherbeast had both of them in her grasp.

Going somewhere? She asked tauntingly, glaring the both of them straight in the eyes. They had struggled to get away from her grip, to no avail. She gave a sinister laugh in response.

Helplessly, Sun looked over back to Nebby as the two of them struggled, wondering what, exactly, she was planning to do with them. But he had... an idea. He might not get out himself, but it was an idea.

"Since you two would come all this way to convince me to return to that wretched world, why don't I return the favor?" She said. Given the circumstances, Sun figured that probably meant she was going to keep the both of them here with her. Definitely not good.

"Oh, and then maybe you'll finally learn some respect, both of you. You'll finally get to have your place as one of my beauties!" She cackled again, and while Lillie may have been horrified at the prospect- they both were- he had somewhat of a chance. His Pokémon were out, and more importantly, the balls spread out on the ground, meaning Nebby was their only chance.

Nebby, though a bit nervous of what happened, figured what to do. Or at least, what it could do... Charging itself up, it tried blasting Lusamine before she could react to it, in the hopes it would save the two of them. That was what Sun's plan was.

She lost her focus while floating there, and her grip loosened. However, Lunala would only be able to save one of them, and Sun had nodded for Lillie to be the one she saved. Luanala swooped forward and got Lillie out of Lusamine's grasp, before swiftly returning to the portal. Lillie reached out to Sun just before entering, but of course, Nebby wouldn't let her go back. And once they had vanished through its entrance, the portal disappeared too.

In the normal world, Lillie and Lunala were deposited back on the Altar, the wormhole now closed shut behind them. While Lunala could easily open it at any time, now would probably not be a very good time to do so. Lillie hoped that Sun would be alright, but she feared the worst. If only she herself was a trainer... Maybe she still can? The two of them made their way back down the Altar's stairway, and back down towards the island, determining herself to actually become a trainer, become strong enough to stop her next time, and save Sun.

Back in Ultra Space, Lusamine was still reeling from what would ultimately prove to be nothing more than a minor distraction in the grand plan of things. And, besides, her grip was still tight enough that Sun couldn't break away on his own. Once she had recovered from the blast, she had realized she now only had one of the two children following her. Bringing Sun back up to her face, she smirked.

"See? She wouldn't even stay to share your fate or save you." She said. Her grip tightened. "But that's okay. I don't need her anymore. Or you..." She added. She made some strange squid-noise, and before Sun realized it, had summoned another Nihilego to her side.

It loomed close to the both of them, leaving him closer to one of the beasts than he had ever hoped to be. In an instant he felt it attach itself onto his back. At the same time, Lusamine's grip had finally actually dropped him, which would be nice if it weren't for the fact that this thing was now holding him in place there. The feeling was indescribable and completely out of this world, or any world, really.

While being held there, he quickly found himself struggling to stay awake. He realized that now this strange jellyfish was attaching itself tightly to his body, and he felt as though that attachment was beginning to either do something or inject something into him.

That was right... Nihilego produced neurotoxins, didn't they? That was what led to Lusamine being so crazy, wasn't it? It was. It was what caused her to do this, to obsess with the Ultra Beasts, and get her to try and live here forever. And, that was presumably without having a massive direct dose pumped into her. Eventually, he lost track of how long he was floating up there. He looked back over to Lusamine, watching over them, and tried to think of any final words to muster, but he... he couldn't. His mind was fogging up now, and still he felt ready to pass out at any moment. But... at the same time... what would he say to her anyways? All of a sudden, whatever sensation this was had almost felt good in a way. And he was upset at her? No, maybe he really did need to listen and show respect more...

With that, he finally fell unconscious as the Nihilego dropped him to the ground and he finally slipped away.

He didn't know how much time had passed since then. But he did know it no longer mattered how much time had been spent. His vision was still incredibly fuzzy and he spotted Lusamine sitting on that one rock just up ahead. He realized that the two of them were also the only ones here aside from the occasional floating Nihilego. Presumably, Guzma had escaped with Lillie and merely didn't notice.

It was at about this point that Sun had looked down at himself, and saw that his entire body was beginning to turn a strange pale color. He didn't know what it meant, and his mind was still battling whether or not he should obey Lusamine or try and fight her. Currently, it was leaning towards the former. Regardless, he staggered himself up, his head still throbbing, and made his way down the ocean corridor.

The next thing he had caught site of was his legs, given he was practically leaning over whilst walking forwards. His legs were thinning drastically, and soon couldn't feel his feet with them. But still... he had to keep moving.

The pale complexion was now spreading upwards along his body. His sides ached as strange tentacles formed out of the sides of his body. At least he figured he was lucky to be numb to any pain from this. Looking forward, he noticed Lusamine was still fused from before. She likely hadn't ever left that state.

His entire body began to feel like it had the consistency of gelatin. his arms had shrank and turned more into noodle tentacles than arms. Somewhere, he figured he had seen these features before, but he couldn't place where.

At some point, he had noticed the fact he was missing the entire front part of his body, leaving his pure white back and the tentacles from either side of him. If it weren't for the uncounted neurotoxins he was now producing himself he almost might have cared. But he was so close, now. He had to keep on moving...

Slowly, the neck part of his head widened out, forming more to be like a brim with a shot of blue along its edges. He felt the transformation crawling along up his head as it slowly turned into a more transparent texture, with a few white stars on each side. By now, he had lost almost all of his human senses, but at least he could still feel things... Besides, he knew where he was going. He knew what he had to do. Lusamine was still emitting pure ultra energy up there, and that was what mattered now. The thought of trying to fight her was now long gone.

As he finally made it up to her, no longer any part human, he collapsed. Lusamine shifted her position a little, before he finally came back to and found himself gently floating in the air, and unable to remember anything that had happened in the times prior.

Lusamine held out one of her own arm... tentacles, and he found himself oddly compelled to attach to it.

"There, don't you feel much better now? You're finally beautiful..." She said, though Sun had hardly registered it at this point. He couldn't help but feel vaguely amused, though.

And besides, maybe this wouldn't be so bad. At least, that was what his new mind was insisting...
